Venom Trucks FAQ: The Most Common Questions
Do you make kits for older 1500 trucks before 2022 or HD trucks before 2024?
No, we do not. Those trucks do not have amber inside the DRL housing. It has a separate dedicated amber source. As a result, you would need aftermarket headlights or a front end swap to the new generation.
My DRLs are still white after installing the switchback kit. What is wrong?
99% of the time, if your DRLs are still white after installing the switchback kit, it’s because the ECM is calling for that function. Several things call for them to switchback to white: Remote starting, parked in a garage or shop (Low light conditions), or turning your headlight knob. We’ve also seen simple cases of something covering the light input sensor that is located on your dash.
Make sure your headlight knob is in the AUTO position. Then, once you start the truck and back out of your garage, the light sensor will tell the ECM to turn the DRLs amber.
I'm having a check turn signal error.
There are 3 possibilities that can cause this.
First, the relay may have failed to activate on the Amber Switchback Kit — this is covered under our standard warranty period.
Second, the wrong kit may be installed on the truck. These trucks have dedicated kits and function differently.
Third, if you are using the Full Time Amber Kit, the pink BCM module must be installed and the pink and green wires must be connected to the LCM pink and green wires, under the dash.
I'm having a flickering effect on my canyon when unlocking the truck.
Don’t worry — this is completely normal for the Canyon. In fact, that flicker is the animation lighting ramping up from 6V to 12V.
My lights are different colors at night or 1 of them is strobing rapidly.
Unfortunately, this is a classic sign that the relay has failed. Simply contact us for a replacement.
Any amber kits coming for new GM trucks and SUVs not listed?

Auto Foglight issue after full time amber install
If you have our Full Time Amber Kit that keeps your DRL’s amber at night, Instead of using pin 1 (white/yellow wire) on the pink connector like we do in the install video, you will use pin 10 (Solid yellow wire) on the same connector. This image is what it will look like when correct.
Is the No Dim DRL harness compatible with Amber kits?
It is not compatible with any amber kit. The No Dim harness is strictly for white DRLs only.
When I track my package I'm not getting updates, it's not moving, or it may be lost.
Depending on the time of year, carriers like UPS and USPS get backlogged and may delay shipments, especially around busy shopping holidays. We have no control over this, and sometimes it does happen. However, if a package stops moving completely for 1 week, we can take action and get you a replacement out.
